The Philanthropic «Pantelis Kyriakidis» Tournamant
Pantelis Kyriakidis, a child who always had a smile on his face and who was wronged by fate, will always remain in our collective memory. And in his honor, the PAOK Academy, under the auspices of PAOK Action, is organizing once again the annual Christmas football tournament of our partner academies from December 17th to 18th.
The matches will be held at the Leontes (Eukarpia) and Champions (Panorama) sports centers as a great opportunity for children to meet and do what they love. As part of the tournament of memory and love, food supplies will also be collected and offered to locla foodbanks to help those in need, while there will also be a «piggy bank» where people can deposit money wihch will be allocated to institutions that help local communities.
At the age of just 12, in May 2009, Pantelis Kyriakidis, a young player from the PAOK Academy, was seriously injured and his father lost his life when they were returning to Thessaloniki by car following a tournament. Since then he continued to fight a brave and difficult battle for his life, stuck in a deep coma, before his heart stopped and he passed away in March 2022.
