PAOK B move clear at the top [pictures]
PAOK B enjoyed 2-0 victory over Anagennisi Karditsa at a sun-drenched Efkarpia on Sunday, which resulted in the home side amassing 10 points and moving clear in first place in their Betsson Super League 2 championship group. Most important of all, however, in our humble opinion, was the fact that the youngest player in the team Stefanos Tzimas got his name on the scoresheet.
After a tight first half with the two teams trying to work each other out during the first quarter of an hour, PAOK B found their footing and started to threaten. They came very close to scoring on at least three ocassions, in the 26th and 38th via Panidis and in the 41st through Spyrakos. However, despite those chances, teh home side failed to convert them into goals, and the two teams went into the dressing rooms on level terms.
The picture was completely different in the second half, with PAOK completely dominating and Stefanos Tzimas, who came on in the 66th minute, shining at the age of just 16 years, ten months and 20 days. In the 70th minute, he scored a great goal to make it 1-0, and in the 74th minute, he collected the ball from Bradonjić’s excellent run and scored for the second time.
The Double-headed Eagle then fashioned some additional opportunities and could have extended the winning margin if their finishing had been better. It mattered not, though, as PAOK claimed an important victory and the team are now already preparing for the trip to Rhodes and the match against Diagoras.
