The youngsters of the PAOK Academy
The eyes of the PAOK Academy and the club’s scouting department to search for talented kids with promising prospects are on the whole country and beyond. For the 2022-23 season, quite a few youngsters, from Under-8 to Under-17, have come in to develop further at the PAOK academy. The PAOK Academy, therefore, is enriched by informal transfers, always aiming to tap into the pool of talented youngsters out there and build on the foundational training they have already acquired in the academies and the teams that they have come from.
The Under-17 (2006) side, therefore have been strengthened by the arrivals of Giorgos Karamberis from PAOD, Theodoros Papaefthymiou from Shooters, Nikolaos Tolios from Asteras Tripoli and the Under-16 (2007) squad have been bolstered by the arrivals of Efthymios Dimou from Champions of Pefkon, Charis Kosmopoulos from Bembides, and Paschalis Stylos from Katerini FC.
There were many additions made to the Under-15 (2008) squad. Michael Bellis came from Bempides, Ioannis Lougianiotis from Veria, Vasilios Tsombanopoulos from Shooters, Evangelos Gioka from Alexandros Kilkis, George Tsenko from FC Monchengladbach, George Georgiadis from PAS Florina, George Krommidas from Agia Anna Volou, Georgios Mavros from AO Nea Efkarpia, Manolis Anastasopoulos from PAOK Karpenisiou, Antonis Karasavvidis from Veria. The Ukrainian Arseniy Koval, who was forced to leave his homeland for a better future, will also compete at Under-15 level, while in the Under-14s Panagiotis Maganielos is added by Alexandros Kilkis.
Of ourse some younger players have also joined the PAOK Academy. At Under-13 (2010) level, the new arrivals are Clydi Kandriou from Ioniko Diavaton, Christoforos Vatsos from Alexandros Kilkis, Anthimos Samson from Paphos FC and Georgios Toliopoulos from Football King Verias. The Under-12 (2011) side welcomes Ioannis Chrysoulakis from Ak. Voutyritsa, Dimitrios Papageorgopoulos from Arsaklis, Marios Chatzis from Peristasi Katerinis, Christos Kakalis from Ak. PAOK Koilon Kozani, Fotis Solomidis from Atromitos Ptolemaidas, and Alexandros Papageorgiou from Playzone Katerinis.
Also, for the Under-11s (2012) the new arrivals are: Orpheas Lazaridis from AS Mygdonas Letis, and Dimitrios Vlachos from PO Malakopis, for the Under-10s (2013) Michael Papaslanis from Hefaistos, Giorgos Liotis from Keravnos Oreokastro and Sarantis Tzelalis from Proteas Evosmos. The Under-9s (2014) have brought in Athanasios Giannopoulos from Mantoulidis, Yiannis Batakas from Pro Soccer and Mario-Taxiarchis Lazaridis from Keravnos Oreokastro. Finally, The Under-8s (2015) have taken on Georgios Rousetis from the Eagles.
