17.09.2022

PAOK got what they wanted against the Fthiotida club, thanks to a goal by Kurtic in the first half. Razvan Lucescu’s side could have killed off the game early on but they missed a host of good chances. However, in the end thanks to a well-organised defence the 1-0 scoreline remained intact until the final whistle.

One of the stars of the match was undoubtedly Tiago Dantas. The Portuguese midfielder had a busy, and impressive game. He put in the kilometers, was the key link between defence and attack on the pitch, helped in almost every phase of the game, and produced two excellent passes for Narey, which unfortnately the German failed to convert into goals.

And so in the Fans’ Man of the Match poll, it was Dantas who took first place with a percentage of 59.42% to win the individual award, leaving Dominik Kotarski in second place, with the goalkeeper again a rock when his team needed him, while he also showed considersble self-sacrifice in the last phase of the game by managing to win an aerial duel despite receiving a nasty blow to the head.

The podium was completed by Jasmin Kurtic. It was the Slovenian who gave his team the answer with a superb header from Narey’s corner, while generally he was an important presence in midfield all night.
