The heavy rain was not the ideal factor for high quality football, however, PAOK imposed themselves from the beginning of the match, controlling much of the possession of the ball. The first important moment for the hosts came in the 21st minute, with Tzimas shooting from just outside the penalty area and the opposing goalkeeper saving it impressively.
