Under-19s slip to defeat in Ioannina

PAS Giannina proved to be too difficult an opponent to overcome on Thursdsay for PAOK’s Under-19 side. PAOK lost 3-1 in Ioannina and remained stuck on 43 points in second place. Attention now switches to next Wednesday’s match against Aris.

The match started with a shock early for PAOK. The hosts made it 1-0 in the seventh minute, then doubled their advantage just one minute after the half-hour mark, before then adding a third five minutes before the end of the first half.

The Double-headed Eagle reduced the deficit to two goal on 49 minutes with a goal by Darelas after Tasiouras’s cross. The visitors then tried to push for further goals, and they indeed did have some good chances, but it was not enough to yield more goals and the match ended 3-1 to the home side.
