PAOK Under-17s primed for final date with Aris
The Super League Under-17 chamionship is all about Thessaloniki. The final of the Final Four tournament will be contested between PAOK and Aris, who will face off against each other on Wednesday 16.03 (15:00) at the Panthessalinko Stadium in Volos. The prize on offer? The right to be called champions.
The Dobule-headed Eagle reached the final by prevailing 3-1 over Atromitos in Sunday’s semi-final with two goals by Tzimas and another from Goumas. In the other semi-final, Aris eliminated AEK courtesy of a 3-0 victory.
For PAOK, today’s clash is their eighth final. PAOK have won three championships. For Aris it is their second final (they won the championship in 2012, beating PAOK).
The two finalists met three times during the regular season. On September 5, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, on December 1, PAOK won 5-2, and on February 26, PAOK won 1-0.
The Double-headed Eagle squad remained in Volos after their semi-final win in order to train and prepare for the final. PAOK’s squad for the final consists of the following players:
