On a heavy pitch, which did not leave much room for either team to play serious football, PAOK B were happy to win a penalty in their first forward forray into the Apollon penalty area. Tzimas was the man who won it in the eighth minute, and he dusted himself down to convert it perfectly to make it 1-0 for the Double-headed Eagle. As for the rest of the half, if you exclude one shot by Meletidis in the 44th minute and a free-kick by Tsaousis a minute later, there was nothing else to write home about.

In the second half, the it was even more difficult for the two teams to move the ball around smoothly and the goal attempts were even more at a premium. In the 54th minute, however, Gaitanidis did crash a free-kick off the crossbar. Despite being in control of the game, PAOK B conceded a goal in the 72nd minute. In their only opportunity of the match, Apollon managed to score with Rooney the man on target, heading home a cross from the left.

However, PAOK B were not to be denied their victory, which was finally given to them by Gordeziani with another well-taken penalty kick in the 84th minute. The spot-kick had been awarded after a handball by a visiting defender, who was also red-carded for his troubles.

PAOK B lineup:

Bourganis, Kaloutsikidis, Panagiotou, Tachatos, Tsopouroglou (76′ Apostolopoulos), Salamouras, Meletidis, Tsaousis, Gaitanidis (67′ Smyrlis), Tzimas (76′ Chatzistravos), Panidis (67′ Gordeziani).
