Kurtic wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
Jasmin Kurtic came out on top in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match award for the 2021-22 Super League Interwetten Matchday 17 clash with AEK at the OAKA.
PAOK once again refused to lose to AEK at the OAKA. Although the Double-headed Eagle played for about 75 minutes with one player less, and also found themselves behind, Razvan Lucescu’s team equalized, endured, and even threatened to win before eventually leaving Athens with a creditable draw.
Jasmin Kurtic is one of the club’s established «leaders». And The Sniper performed his … magic again, scoring with a clever direct free-kick to beat Tsintotas to make it 1-1. Apart from the goal, however, the Slovenian midfielder produced an excellent all-round display to help his team secure the draw.
In the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match, Kurtic received 36.16% of the votes to win the award.
In second place, with a small difference, was Alexandros Paschalakis. The Goldkeeper was excellent in yet another crucial game. He rolled up his sleeves and managed to pull off one of the saves of the season from Petros Mandalo’s header, immediately after PAOK had got back on level terms.
Lefteris Lyratzis completed the podium. The young right-back was flawless defensively, while he also contributed much to the team’s attacking play.
