Paschalakis wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
Alexandros Paschalakis came out on top in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match award for the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League Play Offs second-leg clash against Midtjylland.
It was a historic night. PAOK claimed a place in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa Conference League, securing their presence in a European competition in March, breaking Midtyjlland’s resistance in a penalty shoot-out.
The main man on the night was Alexander Paschalakis. The Goldkeeper was excellent throughout both normal and extra time, making vital saves, and guided his defensive colleagues brilliantly. The highlight undoubtedly, however, was his save in the penalty shoot-out process, which essentially earned the qualification, as his teammates were flawless with their spot-kicks.
In the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match, Paschalakis collected 47.33% of the votes to win the individual award.
In second place was Antonio Colak, who produced his best performance in a PAOK jersey. The Croatian fought gallantly for 120 minutes, also contributing an assist, as well as causing problems for the visiting defenders all night. He also too hte first penalty in the shoot-out, showing his teammates the way forward.
The podium was completed by Adelino Vieirinha , who scored a superb goal, and was generally in impeccable form all ight long.
