Important away win for Under-15 side

PAOK’s Under-15 team clinched a vital away win over Asteras Tripolis with a late “buzzer beater” goal to maintain the leadership of the league table. PAOK are three points clear of Olympiacos, whom they welcome next weekend for their penultimate match of the Super League.

20.02.2022

PAOK were better in the first half, as they had the bulk of the possession and the scoring chances, but they lacked the execution part. Asteras pressed in the second half, and even went close to scoring to try and clinch a chance to reach the Final Four, but Pourliotopoulos managed to make a good save to deny them.

Then the Double-headed Eagle finally found a route to goal literally just before the referee blew the final whistle, with Romanidis shooting home nicely from inside the penalty area.

PAOK lineup:

Pourliotopoulos, Bagios (75′ Kyriazidis), Vyrsokinos, Kosidis, Mythou, Eleftheriadis (57′ Drigakis), Tsitsilas, Panos, Spyrou (45′ Romanidis), Tsifoutis (75′ Dimopoulos), Dunga (57′ Karakostas)
