PAOK B settle for a point in Kavala draw [with pictures]
Despite being in control after taking a 21st-minute lead, PAOK B were forced to settle for a draw with Kavala in their rearraged Betsson Super League 2 Matchday 10 encounter.
Playing against a valiant opponent, the Double-headed Eagle ended up with a point from the 1-1 result, and the team are now already preparing for this Sunday’s game with Olympiacos B. Chances were at a premium in the match, with nost of the goalmouth action taking place in the first half, which saw two goals, a shot on the woodwork from Kavala, and a couple of other opportunities for PAOK B.
Tzimas opened the scoring for the Double-headed Eagle in the 21st minute with a close-range effort, following some excellent work by Gordeziani, who skipped past several challenges down the right before passing the ball at the right moment. Chatzistravos let the ball run on to Tzimas, who finished clinically.
In the 38th minute, however, Suleiman scored with an impressive free-kick for the visitors, and shortly afterwards Kavala also hit the woodwork.
As for the second half, the pace of the game dropped consideably. No significant chances were forthcoming, with the exception of an effort from Tzimas in the 70th minute and a header by Koulierakis in the final minute of normal time.
