Vote for the BOX MVP of January
The Double-headed Eagle continued to build up a head of steam in January. The team is improving, the momentum is there, and slowly but surely things that Razvan Luecescu wants to see are happening. The team is showing the characteristics of a winner.
PAOK remained undefeated in January, and there were many leading protagonists. But who was the ultimate leader? Time to vote for the January BOX MVP via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App.
The Double-headed Eagle have found the required stability at the back, and a large share of that success belongs to Ingi Ingason. The Icelander is back after a long absence through injury and he has been excellent.
In January, he did not miss a single minute of action and contributed the most to the four clean sheets from five matches. He also helped in attack, as he found the net in the game at the Panthessaliko against Volos with a header. The Iceman is back and is in the running for the prize.
To win of course, he has to beat two very strong opponents. The first is none other than the December BOX MVP, Jasmin Kurtic. The Slovenian is having the best season of his career to date, and in just six months he has managed to establish himself as one of the club’s most influential players. Last month he was unstoppable again. He scored four goals, dished out one assist, and seeemed to be everywhere on the pitch. Will he manage to celebrate back-to-back titles?
Finally, Chuba Akpom could not be left out of this competition. His numbers may not be as impressive, as he scored only one goal in four appearances, but his overall contribution to games is difficult to capture in statistics alone. The Englishman puts in the running, pressing opponents, tracks back as if his life depended on it, and does not shirk from putting in ugly but necessary challenges on opposing players. All in all, he is an important weapon for Razvan Lucescu.
