PAOK B earn goalless draw in Larissa [with pictures]
In a match low on quality which was characterised by tough one-on-one duels all over the pitch, intensity and passion, PAOK B and AEL shared the points at the Alkazar.
The game featured plenty of tension and needle from the beginning, with several mistakes and few opportunities in front goal for either side. And the opportunities may have been lacking, but determination and the will to do battle was not, elements which did not help the game to have a good tempo or rhythm.
The highlight of the first half came in the 31st minute when Koutsias surged into the penalty area from the right and fired in a powerful diagonal shot that flashed wide.
In the second half the pattern of the game did not change. AEL had a lot of the possession, while PAOK B tried to hit the home side on the break and in the 67th minute they almost opened the score when Chatzistravos found Koutsias but again the young striker missed from a good position.
AEL came closest to scoring in the 90th minute when ,after an effort by Iliadis, the ball fell kindly to Panagiotou, but Talichmanidis reacted perfectly and saved well on the line.
