Vote for the Regency Casino Best Goal of 2021

Paokfc.gr, the PAOK FC Official App, and Regency Casino are looking for PAOK’s best goal of 2021. And, you guessed it, we need your help to find it. Time to cast your votes.

06.01.2022

2021 is now in the past but as always, it was a year that left us with many memories. A difficult year in the league, another Greek Cup trophy, qualification to the knockouts of the UEFA Europa Conference League, and a lot of goals.

In fact, some of these goals will remain etched in our minds for a long time. But which one was the best?

Through paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, as well as our collaboration with Regency Casino, you voted for the best goals of the previous months. But now it’s time to pick out the best of the best. The most beautiful goal scored by a PAOK player in 2021.

There are 10 superb strikes that will take part in the voting, from nine different scorers. Let’s have a quick look at the nominations.

We start with Christos Tzolis. The young Greek forward scored an amazing and technically difficult goal against AEL in January during the game at the Toumba in the Greek Cup. He controlled a long ball superbly, skipped past the opposing goalkeeper and found the net with a delicate strike.

The second candidate is a player who is not used to scoring. Rodrigo Soares. In another cup game against Lamia in February, the Brazilian scored a stunning goal with an incredible shot when off balance from outside the penalty area.

Andrija Zivkovic takes the baton next. Against AEK at the Toumba in March, the Serb found the net after a headed pass by Ingason, scoring with a powerful shot while in motion from a wide position.

In April it was Karol Swiderski’s classic center-forward goal against Asteras in Tripoli which has him up for contention. After a pass from Douglas, Swarovski took on the ball, swivelled 180 degrees and fired in a clinical shot.

Michael Krmencik and his wonderful goal in the Greek Cup final against Olympiacos in May could not be left out of the vote. A brilliant through ball from Tsingaras was only bettered by a skillful backheel flick-on by A. Zivkovic, to send the Czech clean through on goal. The big striker didn’t disppoint, executing a clinical finish to score the winning goal.

Thomas Murg is also a nominee for his effort in Croatia against Rijeka, while Diego Biseswar is also a serious candidate, with the great goal he scored at the Toumba against AEK from an extremely difficult angle and with many bodies between him and the goal.

There’s a double candidacy for Jasmin Kurtic with two carbon-copy goals. The Slovenian proved from the first months of his presence in Thessaloniki that he is a dead-ball specialist, and with the direct free-kick goals in Heraklion against OFI and at «Leoforos» against Panathinaikos, he has an increased chance of being the final winner.

Last but not least there’s Chuba Akpom. The Englishman struck a wonderful goal against AEL at the Toumba to help the team seal qualification for the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup, and so is also in the battle to win the goal of the year award.
