Akpom’s worldie
Chuba Akpom is the man who managed to prevent Jasmin Kurtic from taking home another Regency Casino Best Goal award, with the Englishman claiming the honours for December’s edition.
The English forward came off the bench in the final game of 2021 against AEL at the Toumba and with a two-goal salvo he put the seal on the team’s progress to the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup.
His second goal in particular was fantastic, combining an impressive piece of dribbling on the edge of the penalty area with a clinical, curling finish. Indeed, AK47 got so carried away with his celebration of the goal that he took off his shirt and forgot that he had already been booked, resulting in him being sent off.
In the poll for the Regency Casino Best Goal for December, Akpom received 62,88% of the votes to take home the individual award, though.
In second and third place were Jasmin Kurtic’s two goals. The Slovenian did not manage to make it three awards in a row after his successes in October and November.
