Andrija Zivkovic’s year of “firsts” in 2021
The conquest of the Greek Cup, the return of Razvan Lucescu to the dugout after a two-year absence, the promotion of The Golden Boy Christos Tzolis, and his eventual sale to Norwich City certainly stand out.
In modern football, statistics and analysis are becoming ever more important in the daily life of any club, and so paokfc.gr makes an attempt at our own report of the year based on numbers alone.
Over 100 goal

In 2021, PAOK played 58 official matches in all competitions with the total results being 31 wins, 13 draws and 14 defeats, with 62 goals conceded – a lot based on recent seasons – but there were also 107 goals scored.
Zile is the top scorer

Andrija Zivkovic came to PAOK to breathe new life into his career, and the numbers prove that he has achieved exactly that with characteristic ease. In 2021, the Serbian international found the back of the net 14 times and was the Double-headed Eagle’s top scorer. Jasmin Kurtic managed to climb into second place. Although he arrived in Thessaloniki in the summer, the Slovenian already has 10 goals to his name, the same as Stefan Schwab , but the Austrian has played more games.
Michael Krmencik is also in the top five. His goal in the Greek Cup final saw him move onto nine, and he is ahead of Swiderski, Tzolis, and Akpom, all of whom have eight goals apiece.
Give and… goal

Andrija Zivkovic’s influence on PAOK’s performances can also be seen from the fact that he is first in the list of assists. Zile assisted on nine goals for his teammates, a performance that gives him the lead by far. The second place is shared by Karol Swiderski and Omar El Kaddouri, both of whom have five.
Next, the two Brazilians Rodrigo and Douglas Augusto chipped in with four assists, and this list is closed out by Tzolis, Schwab, Taylor and the club captain Andre Vieirinha, who all have three each.
Games vs. match time

To wrap up our review of the basic statistical categories, there’s also the info on appearances, as well as the match time that each player has spent on the field. In terms of appearances then, first on the list is Swiderski with 55, followed by Schwab (54), Andrija Zivkovic (52), Murg (47), and Paschalakis (44).
