Under-19’s clinch away win at Atromitos
A last-gasp goal from Gustavo Varela in the second minute of added time earned PAOK’s Under-19 team a vital three-point haul on Wednesday as the Double-headed Eagle claimed a 2-1 away win over Atromitos in their rearranged league fixture.
The Double-headed Eagle claimed an important away victory which has kept them among the frontrunners in the title race. The next challenge for them is a home game against Lamia on Sunday (12.12, 14.45) in Souroti.
PAOK went in fron in the 41st minute courtesy of a goal from Babouras, following an assist by Deligiannis. However, in the 65th minute the hosts found a way to equalize. The visitors deid not give up on getting the three points though and they were rewarded for their efforts when the victory came in the 92nd minutes thanks to a goal scored by Varela on the rebound after Babouras’ initial shot was saved by Atromitos’ goalkeeper.
