Goalless draw for PAOK B

It ended honours even between Triglia and PAOK B on Saturday in their Betsson Super League Matchday 3 contest, in a match that ended without either side troubling the goalkeepers.

20.11.2021

The Double-headed Eagle have now collected two points from their opening three matches and are already preparing for Wednesday’s match with Veria at the Makedonikos Stadium.

The match in Triglia was low on quality and chances. There were some bad tempers out on the pitch, although at times the game was a relatively open one. PAOK, at times, produced a good first half and created two chances in the opponent’s pernalty area – in the 17th and 39th minutes, but Gaitanidis and Gordeziani could not convert them into goals.

This was followed in the 41st minute by a nice ball from the left by Chatzistravos, which Gaitanidis unfortunatley could not take advantage of.

In the second half it was the home side Triglia that took control of the game from the beginning. The hosts were energetic and eager, but they did not pose a particular dangerous threat.

The match petered out towards the end with the match ending in a 0-0 draw, which was probably a fair reflection on the balance of play. There was some unpleasant news after the match as well, with an injury to Kyriakos Giaxis, who suffered a dislocated shoulder. On the plus side, it was great to see Ingi Ingason get another 90 minutes under his belt.

Team lineups:

Triglia: Palavrakis, Panagou, Manolakis, Kostoulas, A. Papasterianos, Papadopoulos (46′ Pelion), M. Papasterianos, Tomas (73′ Masouras), Vitinio, Bastakos, Totska (88′ Kartsambas).

PAOK B: Talichmanidis, Apostolopoulos, Kaloutsikidis, Ingason, Panagiotou, Giaxis, Salamouras, Chatzistravos (83′ Fasidis), Tzimas (74′ Panidis), Gaitanidis (46′ Spyridis), Gordeziani.
