A battle of character awaits Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League

It is wise to never forget the importance of travel and experience in youth football. Clearly, victory is not the end in itself. It is imperative not to take anything for granted, to get back up when you fall, to fight, chasing even what seems impossible. This is exactly what the Under-19 side are called upon to do in Slovakia.

PAOK face MSK Zilina of Slovakia in the second leg of their first round tie in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday, October 20 at 17.30. No matter how heavy the defeat by Zilina in the first game (5-1), the Double-headed Eagle side will try their utmost to attempt to reverse the score and progress to the next phase of the competition. It’s a difficult task, but not impossible. If nothing else, in football no game is lost before kick-off, and the Under-19 team are called upon to at best show some character in the match.

Stelios Malezas’ team will have their final training session before the game today at 17.00.

The PAOK squad for Slovakia:

Monastirlis, Angelidis, Lipiridis, Tsopouroglou, Aventisian, Martos, Zilo, Filon, Kottas, Tsiakoumis, Tsikos, Koutentakis, Garnetas, Roumiantsev, Kalogiros, Smyrlis, Darelas, Spyrakos, Babouras, Kedikoglou.
