Under-17s win in Xanthi
A focused and determined Under-17 side claimed all three points from their trip to Xanthi, beating the Akrites 2-1 to chalk up a fifth consecutive victory in the league. The next match sees PAOK host PAS Giannina in Souroti this coming weekend.
Tsiapakidis’ and Hagan’s side were ahead after 10 minutes thanks to a header from Tzimas from the edge of the penalty area following an excellent assist from Scnauzner. The hosts equalized in the 50th minute via an own goal, but it was PAOK who had the last word. Tzimas was the player on target again, scoring from the rebound after in the 64th minute after Adam had his shot saved to make the final score 2-1 to PAOK.
In the 77th minute, the Double-headed Eagle had the opportunity for a third goal when Adam won a penalty. However, Goumas saw his spot-kick saved by the Xanthi ‘keeper.
