Paschalakis wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
After a close battle with Anderson Esiti, Alexandros Paschalakis came out on top in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match award for the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League Matchday 2 encounter against Slovan Bratislava.
PAOK did not manage to get the three points that they wanted against the Slovaks, but they kept the points gap of three points between them intact. Slovan and the accumulated fatigue from the consecutive away matches proved to be strong obstacles, with the game ending in a draw and both teams sharing a point apiece.
PAOK started the match strongly, and scored a quick goal. The visitors found an immediate response and then the defenders and goalkeepers took over the action with the score remaining unchanged until the final whistle.
Alexandros Paschalakis was the major protagonist again. The Goldkeeper made some great saves, showed his character, and guided the young defenders in front of him, Mihaj and Michailidis expertly.
In the vote for the Fans’ Man of the Match of the match the competition was fierce. Anderson Asiti produced an excellent appearance, vindicating the coach’s faith in him for starting with him, contributing the most to both defense and attack.
The final score was 44.63% for Paschalakis and 42.03% for Esiti, with the Greece goalkeeper colleting another individual award.
