Paschalakis wins Fans’ Man of the Match award

Alexandros Paschalakis came out on top in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match award for the 2021-22 Super League Interwetten Matchday 2 encounter against Asteras Tripolis.

22.09.2021

It was a tough and demanding game against a very strong team. PAOK, however, came out and produced a focused, determined and serious display to take the victory they wanted.

The penalty won by Biseswar and converted by Vieirinha was enough to give the team the three points as far as the attacking aspect was concerned, but the victory came largely thanks to the fact that the defense did their job perfectly, with Alexandros Paschalakis once more having a starring role.

The Greece international goalkeeper is in Goldkeeper mode in recent matches and he continues to prove it at every opportunity. He was there whenever the team needed him in Tripoli. He saved free-kicks, shots inside and outside the penalty area, close-range headers, and generally seemed invincible, a fact that can be seen from the post-match comments of the opposition players and coach.

And in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match, Paschalakis received 76.82% of the public votes to claim the individual award for the second consecutive game.

Sidcley and Biseswar completed the podium. The Brazilian full-back showed plenty of his obvious talents, especially in the attacking side of the pitch, while The Artist was …. well, The Artist, making himself a constant source of danger for the opposing defense.
