Under-17s draw 1-1 with Aris
Despite going behind and being reduced to 10 players, PAOK’s Under-17 side battled back to earn a 1-1 draw with Aris in Pylaia.
PAOK’s Under-17 team secured a hard-fought draw (1-1) with Aris in the premiere of the Super League championship. On Matchday 2 they will play host to Volos on a date that is yet to be decided.
The match on Sunday proved to be a tough battle, with a lot of strong tackling with chances at a premium overall. The Double-headed Eagle missed a few opportunities before then conceeding a goal against the run of play in the 52nd minute. After that things got a bit tempestuous, with plenty of cards being dished out as tempers boiled over at times. PAOK were reduced to 10 players on 58 minutes, but Petros Tsiapakidis’ team found a way to react and get back in the game.
In the 70th minute, Goumas sent over a free-kick from the right into the penalty area, and Filon equalized with a nice header. PAOK then went on to almost snatch a win, but they failed to convert several chances and the score remained at 1-1 when the final whistle was blown.
