PAOK’s new-look Under-17s

After having waited for virtually a whole season, PAOK’s Under-17 side are hoping that they will never have to go through a year like the last… non-existent campaign due to the pandemic. For the club’;s new-look Under-17s, the 2021-22 season starts on September 5. The first match, Aris vs. PAOK at 11.00 in Pylaia.

04.09.2021

The Super League championship for the Under-17 category starts with a total of 17 teams and some changes that will determine the clubs which make up the season-ending Final Four tournament, from which the champions will emerge.

The northern group (B) is composed of: PAOK, Aris, Panetolikos, Xanthi, PAS Giannina, Volos, Larissa and Lamia, while the southern group (A) are: Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK, Asteras Tripolis, Atromitos, Panionios, Apollon Smyrnis, OFI and Ionikos.

In Group A, two rounds of nine matchdays will be held, i.e. 16 matches for each team. In the B group, three rounds of seven matchdays will be held, a total of 21 matches for each team. In the 3rd round, the teams that won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places after the end of the first two rounds will play in four home and three away games. The other teams of the group will play in three home games and four away games, based on a draw. The champion will emerge through the process of the Final Four.

The Under-17s profile

Petros Tsiapakidis is in charge this season, backed up by a very capable backroom staff, which has already been training these players in previous years. The squad consists of players born in 2005, many of whom are internationals, while some are already also included in the Under-19 squad. Several new «little ones» have been added, born in 2006, and many of whom will interchange between the Under-17 and Under-16 sides. As every year, there were some departures, but also additions. And so, we welcome Evangelos Kiatos, Evangelos Economidis and Panagiotis Deliopoulos to the squad.
