Lucas Taylor is now a PAOK player
PAOK FC announces the acquisition of Lucas Taylor from Dnipro. The Brazilian full-back has signed a 3 + 1 year contract with the Double-headed Eagle.
A Brazilian right back, on a free transfer from Dnipro. History seems to be repeating itself for the club. Back then it was Leo Matos, today it’s Lucas Taylor. The new signing represents PAOK’s first transfer of the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Lucas Taylor’s resume
Lucas Taylor Maya Reyes was born on April 10, 1995 in Gaurulo, Sao Paulo. In 2007 he joined Palmeiras Under-12s and went on to make some impressive appearances in the young age categories, playing as an attacker, but also as a defensive midfielder.
Palmeiras’ first team gave him his big professional break in 2015, with Taylor making his debut in August in a game against Coritiba.
This was followed by a cycle of loans to Criciuma, Parana, Red Bull Brasil, Paysandu, Botafogo and Boa, with Taylor making several appearances, mainly in the second tier, standing out for his attacking game.
His performances soon began to attract the attention of clubs in Europe. A newcomer to the Ukrainian top flight, Lviv, acquired him on loan from Palmeiras for a year.
Taylor adapted quickly and managed to score three goals and provide two assists in three appearances. He returned to Palmeiras and then moved to Portuguese second tier club Estoril Praia on a free transfer.
For the first six months he did not get any playing time and decided to leave. Dnipro, who knew of him from his time in Lviv, opted to acquire him in January 2020. With his new team, Taylor played 30 times, scoring once and contributing three assists.
The Brazilian ended his collaboration with Dnipro in June, and PAOK decided to gave him the opportunity for a new challenge, which he accepted and he is now set to become a resident of Thessaloniki.
Welcome Lucas!
