A statement from Ivan Savvidis
The president of PAOK FC, Ivan Savvidis, has made the following statement via paokfc.gr.
Football is full of strong emotions and my commitment when I took over here at PAOK was to bring success to the club and joy to the fans.
Football is governed by those daily difficult decisions that must be made with a clear mind and this time without emotion.
Taking into account all of the facts, today the club has made one of its most difficult decisions, and this decision concerns Pablo Garcia.
I thank him from the bottom of my heart for the fact that he was not afraid, he took the risk and took responsibility for the team at a critical moment for us. He then led the team to victory in the Greek Cup in one of the most critical matches of the season and in practice he showed what the DNA of PAOK truly means.
Now, we need to set ourselves new goals. The club is aiming for absolute self-sufficiency, for Pablo Garcia the completion of his training and self-improvement as a coach of the highest level. Despite the change of the coaching staff at PAOK, I suggested to Pablo Garcia to remain in our black and white family in any capacity Any decision of his will find me a supporter of it, and I will support him in whatever path he will choose.
We expect new victories and trophies from Razvan Lucescu, the architect of the club’s biggest success to date, who returns to the PAOK family once more. Razvan must defend and shield PAOK with his personality and experience.
PAOK’s goal is to become part of the European elite and to take root firmly in this complex environment. A difficult, uphill road awaits us, but we do not intend to stop.
One century of PAOK’s history will find us stronger, with new titles, which we will bring to the club in its new home,
Yours sincerely,
Ivan Savvidis
