Shine bright like… Swarovski
Karol Swiderski’s exceptional strike against Asteras in Tripolis, a classic center forward’s goal, has won the award for the Regency Casino Best Goal for April.
The clock had already passed the 55th minute. The score was 0-0. It was Karol Swiderski’s time to shine. The ball arrived at the feet of the Polish forward from Douglas Augusto.
Swarovski had his back to the goal, but with a quick 18–turn, he put his body in the right position and sent a real thunderbolt of a strike in off the crossbar.
Swiderski’s goal was by far the goal of choice in the voting for the Regency Casino Best Goal for April, collecting 42.22% of the vote and securing the individual award for the international striker.
What definitely raises the value of the winner even further are the two other entries that completed the podium.
In second place was Thomas Murg’s buzzer-beating free-kick in the semi-final of the Greek Cup against AEK at the OAKA, while in third place was the magical lob by Andrija Zivkovic in the second leg of the cup tie against the Union at the Toumba.
