Warda wins Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match award
Amr Warda came out on top in the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match for the Super League Interwetten Play Offs Matchday 7 encounter against AEK.
PAOK celebrated another victory against AEK, their fourth in the last four games, and took a decisive step towards securing second place. The Double-headed Eagle were superior throughout the match, and could have taken the lead in the first half. Finally the goals came at the start of the second half with PAOK taking a two-goal lead and going on to seal the three points comfortably.
Central to PAOK’s performance was Amr Warda. The Egyptian came off the bench at half-time and managed to change the balance of the game. He provided the assist for Krmencik’s goal, and also played in the Czech forward when he won a penalty. Overally, he was a constant threat to the opposition defence.
And in the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match, Warda received 42% of the votes to claimed the individual title.
In second place was Michael Krmencik, who missed some important opportunities in the first half, but in the second half was effective with a goal and a penalty award.
