Baba wins Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match award
Rahman Baba came out on top in the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match for the Greek Cup semi-final clash against AEK.
With a late comeback win over AEK, PAOK claimed a place in the Greek Cup final in a triumphant manner.
Even though the Double-headed Eagle fell behind when the Union levelled the tie thanks to Galanopoulos’ goal, PAOK missed a penalty along with a clutch of other scoring chances before finally turning the match around in the closing stages.
The key man on the night was Baba Rahman. The Ghanaian left-back produced a rock-solid defensive display, but apart from that he was also crucial to the team’s forward play, setting up the equalizing goal for Krmencik with a brilliant pass after an interception on the edge of the penalty area.
And in the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match, he received 38,86% of the votes to take home the individual award.
In second place was Michael Krmencik, who came off the bench to score with a great strike, while the other scorer for the Double-headed Eagle, Andrija Zivkovic, came in third.
