The celebration of International Children’s Book Day on April 2 was established by the International Book Council for Youth (IBBY) in 1966, the birthday of the great Danish storyteller Hans Christian Andersen.

Also on April 2, it is also World Autism Awareness Day, reminding everyone of the great responsibilities and moral obligation we have to support children around the world, in order to provide them with equal conditions for their participation in a fairer world.

And on the occasion of these two very important celebratory days, and in the context of our cooperation with the ‘SYZOI’ association, PAOK FC, through PAOK Action, decided to offer children’s books and stationery for the association’s educational programs and young children, plus gifts for those working at the facility.

As part of the initiative, PAOK players Adrian Pereira and Nika Ninoua visited the SYZOI facilities, and took great pleasure in handing out books and other gifts to the children, with plenty of smiles to be seen among the happy faces.

The aim of the initiative was to help in practice the work of SYZOI, creating a consistent cooperation.

The SYZOI Parents Association of People with Vision imparements and disabilities (mental retardation, autism, neurological disorders, motor and sensory problems, etc.). From 2006 until today, the organisation provides a vital service of support for children with disabilities in order to provide all of the conditions for a decent and quality way of life, development and education.
