Another double for Tzolis in January
The individual awards just keep coming for Christos Tzolis whose performances continue to steal the limelight. The awards seem to be coming in pairs these days, with the young ace following up his January BOX MVP with the Regency Casino Best Goal for the same month.
In the first month of 2021, PAOK’s Golden Boy scored his first hat-trick of his professional career, and he did it with his own personal style, since the second goal of the Greek Cup match against Larissa was also voted the goal of the month.
Tzolis had already opened the scoring in the 10th minute and in the 23rd minute he once again dmeonstrated his mercurial finishing talents. Douglas Augusto was the man who sent over a brilliant cross, and Tzolis produced a sublime piece of skill to control the ball perfectly before evading both a defender and the goalkeeper before clipping home a clinical finish.
And in the vote for January’s Regency Casino Best Goal, Tzolis clinched the award, beating his third goal in the same match into second place. Adelino Vieirinha was third with his free-kick effort against AEK at the Toumba.
Tzolis received 45,19% of the votes, leaving the The Leader behind with 35,86%.
