Warda wins Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match award
Amr Warda came out on top in the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match for the match against Volos on Matchday 17 of the Super League Interwetten.
Even if the game did not get off to the best of starts, PAOK produced the right response, turning the game around and getting back to wining ways with a 3-1 win over the Magnesia club.
And the major protagonist on the day was Amr Warda. The Egyptian was given a starting berth from the coaching staff and vindicated his selection with a positive display in midfield. Tactically he was on point, helped his team in attack with his probing play, and threatened the opposition defence, while he could also have scored a goal with an impressive shot on the turn which flashed just wide of Volos goalkeeper Cleyman’s right post.
In the poll for the Protergia Fans’ Man of the Match, Warda received 43,47% of the votes to clinch the individual award.
In second place was Michael Krmencik, who came off the bench and threatened on numerous occassions before also scoring his first goal for the club to wrap up the victory. The podium was completed by Ingi Ingason, who was both solid in defence and also got on thje scoresheet with an impressive header.
