Paokfc.gr presents the 10 most popular posts of 2020 from the club’s Instagram account.
In a year that was strange to say the least, forcing us to remain at home, Instagram acted as a window to the outside world. It kept us company during moments of loneliness, or prompted us to realize that it was time for us to do something else when we saw the message that «there is nothing new». Yes, all of us at some stage experienced this.
At PAOK we did not deviate much from our usual logic. We simply gave you a reason to somehow play the role of Admin during lockdown, breaking the norms of the black and white timeline for special occasions.

10) A comeback win against PSV Eindhoven

Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season. Despite finding themselves behind in the match against PSV, PAOK produced an epic comeback which included four goals in the second half.
9) The first derby of 2020

The first derby of 2020 took place at the Toumba against ΑΕΚ. The result of the match was decided by Adelino Vieirinha, who also provided an iconic goal celebration.
8) Xmas Raffle

PAOK FC and Giorgos Savvidis organized a special Christmas giveaway. Thousands of supporters took part, with a few lucky winners claiming PAOK shirts, jackets and some Playstation 5 consoles.

5) Away win at the Karaiskakis

Olympiacos knew that if they avoided defeat to PAOK at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, they would celebrate an unbeaten league title. The Double-headed Eagle went to Piraeus hurting, but determined to succeed, and they managed to prevent Olympiacos achieving an important record.

Besiktas was our first opponent in competitive action in the 2020-21 season. PAOK made an impressive start, disintegrating the Turkish side in the first 30 minutes to record a big win.
3) A vital comeback

PAOK found themselves with their backs against the wall. Olympiacos moved quickly into a two-goal lead in the first leg of their Greek Cup semi-final tie at the Toumba. The Double-headed Eagle players, however, had other ideas and produced a thrilling comeback.

Avgenakis and the EEC set up a conspiracy against PAOK, a fact that led the club’s supporters to take to the streets and demand true justice, instead of setting up committees and courts.
1) The triumph against Benfica

The victory of the year. Benfica arrived at the Toumba with the label of firm favorites to win having spent tens of millions on transfers. PAOK, however, were determined to exorcise their demons against the Portuguese team and succeeded in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League Play Offs.
