Another European challenge awaits PAOK this week. After the defeat in the Netherlands, the Double-headed Eagle squad need a win against Omonia in order to edge closer to securing a place in the UEFA Europa League Round of 32.

The match in Cyprus has taken on the character of a cup final for PAOK, while Omonia are also seeking their first-ever win in the group stage of the competition.

After the necessary rest day on Monday (30.11) the PAOK squad gathered at Nea Mesimvria to begin the preparations for the trip to the GSP Stadium. Tuesday’s (01.12) training was focused on energizing the players with some warm-up drills, stretching and running exercises, as well as rondo. The second part of the session was focused on tactics with the players executing some exercises within limited spaces.

Dimitris Giannoulis trained normally and is declared available for selection, since he also returned a negative Covid-19 test.

One player who will miss the match against Omonia is Douglas Augusto who is suspended. Meanwhile, Andre Vieirinha felt some discomfort in his right knee and he will undergo an MRI scan on Wednesday (02.12) in order for the medical team to assess the extent of the problem.
