Luck deserted PAOK in Russia, with the visitors paying for a couple of rare mistakes and losing 2-1 against Krasnodar, with the tie now delicately balanced ahead of the second leg at the Toumba Stadium.

One of the key players for the Double-headed Eagle was undoubtedly Omar El Kaddouri. The midfielder has started the season impressively, and he was a joy to watch at the Krasnodar Stadium. He was full of running, battled in both defenve and attack, and was also unlucky not to get on the scoresheet when he hit the post in the second half. He was by far the standout midfielder on the night.
