In the 2010-11 season PAOK faced Fenerbahce in the Europa League Play Offs after having previously been eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers by Ajax.

The first leg took place at the Toumba Stadium on August 19 2010, with PAOK claiming a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Vieirinha in the 19th minute, despite also having been reduced to 10 players in the 57th minute following the dismissal of Vitolo (due to a second booking).

In the second leg at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium, Belozoglou put Fener 1-0 ahead to level the tie, and the game went to extra time.

And it was in extra time when one of the most significant goals in the history of the Double-headed Eagle was scored by Muslimovic, who found the net in the 102nd minute.

The draw sent PAOK into the group stages of the Europa League for the first time in the club’s history, while once again the club now finds itself facing a club from Turkey in its way in order to reach the group stages of the Champions League.
