Doveri named match referee for PAOK vs. Besiktas
Italian official Daniele Doveri has been announced as the match referee by UEFA for the clash with Bestikas at the Toumba Stadium for the Champions League second qualifying round tie.
Born on December 10 1977, Doveri has a wealth of experience in Serie A, while he has also been the fourth official in several Champions League matches for the last two seasons. He was also in charge for Dinamo Zagreb’s match against Saburtalo in last season’s qualifiers.
The Italian will be back in Thessaloniki for the first time in two years, following his previous refereeing of an Aris vs PAOK match at the KLeathis Vikelidis Stadium when the Dougle-headed Eagle won 2-1.
Doveri will be assisted by Mateo Passeri and Dario Kekkoni, while the fourth official will be Gianpaolo Calvarese. Referee observer will be Frenchman Fredi Frotel, while the UEFA delegate will be Estonian Oleg Harlamov.
