ΠΑΟΚ ΤV – Press Play
PAOK TV arrived last season to revolutionize the landscape of television broadcasting in Greek football and pave the way to capitalize on the club’s brand identity. One year later, PAOK TV is changing again. With Amazon as its teammate, the platform is evolving to become even better in order to reach new heights.
The first cycle of PAOK TV concluded together with the 2019-20 season, and the club’s digital platform is returning completely renewed with a fresh look, and packed with innovative features and content. With a look and feel that stands out from the usual offerings of typical OTT platforms, the new-look PAOK TV aims to create a unique brand, which represents a digital extension of the Toumba Magazine from decorated Creative Director Dimitris Papazoglou. Set up 100% on the Cloud using Amazon Web Services with new architecture and distribution of content via Insys Video Technologies.
The exciting overhaul of PAOK TV is the result of the club’s deliberate and conscious strategy to invest and develop digitally in order to create its own unique ecosystem through which it will offer high quality services to not only the team’s supporters, but to football lovers everyone.
That is the philosophy on which the new PAOK TV was built. The continuous improvement of its services and no complacency whatsoever from the success of the first pilot year last season. The PAOK TV team have worked tirelessly during last season in order to present a solution that will not only respond to the difficulties it faced, but surpass expectactions.
And so, PAOK has put its trust in Amazon and a series of solutions from AWS Media Services in order to make the content quick and easy to process, and distribute to PAOK TV subscribers through the InsysSport program.
Going beyond the technical specifications aimed at serving up even better picture quality, better stream distribution and reduced time between live action and what the viewer sees on screen, the big difference of PAOK TV in the new season will be its compatibility with almost all devices through the creation special applications for both smartphones and Smart TV’s.
From mobile devices, PAOK TV content will now be viewed through the application for Android and the corresponding one for iOS, with PAOK having the ability to inform its subscribers about new content through notifications. At the same time, smartphone applications, like the web portal, introduce floating window technology that allows you to continue navigating the application or the website without stopping the video you are watching and losing the action.
If of course for any reason you choose to pause the video, you can watch it anytime you want through the ‘continue watching’ feature. At the same time, you can create your own list of favorite videos so you don’t have to search for them in the database.
And because football is all about watching on big screens, PAOK TV also has apps for Smart TV’s. For the season premiere, we will have the application for Android TV, while the new LG Smart TV App will follow. The range of options is expected to be completed with a pending agreement with Samsung for the hosting of a special application for operating Tizen.
In the first phase of the new-look PAOK TV, the Smart TV applications will support live events, while in September their full, Netflix-logic version will be delivered, which will include all the On Demand videos on the PAOK TV platform.
The new-look PAOK TV has also invested in the security of the service in order to reduce piracy, as well as the transmission of games in professional venues with a home subscription. The PAOK TV stream will have a special encryption that will not allow it to play in mobile browsers, as well as watermarking to identify and lock those who do not have the correct subscription out.
These are not the only new elements of PAOK TV, since in just a short space of time a completely new, interactive player will be integrated into the platform that will take the viewing experience from mobile devices and through web browsers to another level, turning the match into a video game with the possibility of live chat in parallel.
The all-new PAOK TV will premiere on Saturday 08.08, with the first episode of the documentary Toumba Uncensored which, like all previous PAOK TV productions, will be free for all registered users of the channel.
The new subscription packages will be activated very soon in the near future …
