Giannis Amanatidis joins PAOK’s coaching staff
PAOK FC announces the start of its collaboration with Giannis Amanatidis, who joins the club’s coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Born in Kozani on December 3 1981, he moved to Germany at 14 and joined the youth academy of Stuttgart, working his way up to play for the first team where he remained until 2004. He played one season at Kaiserslautern and then in 2005 he joined Eintract Frankfurt where he remained until 2011, when he then hung up his boots, having enjoyed a successful career also with the Greece national team with whom he made 35 appearances and scored three goals.
In 2014 he became a coach of the Iraklis Under-20 team, while in 2016 he also had a spell coaching the first team. He is a holder of a UEFA A diploma, while he has been working at Swiss side St Gallen for the past two seasons alongside head coach Peter Zeidler.
