Vote for July’s 11888 MVP

Another month packed with difficult games, successes, and failures. It climaxed with a positive result in finishing second in the Super League and claiming a place in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. It’s time for you to decide who was the top performer, by casting your votes via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App for the 11888 MVP for July.

24.07.2020

Our first candidate is a product of the PAOK Academy. Having clinched the Under-19 league title, he was then thrown straight in at the deep end in the senior squad and performed admirably. Giannis Michailidis was handed a place in the starting lineup by coach Abel Ferreira in a three-man defence, and he put together a string of impressive performances. Solid at the back as well as being vital to the team’s build-up play, the young defender demonstrated that he is ready for the next level, with one of the highlights being his superb free-kick goal against OFI in Crete.

Next in contention is Jose Mauricio. The Brazilian was shouldered with an increased load in responsibility in the middle of the park due to injuries to teammates, and he produced some stellar displays. He linked defence with attack brilliantly, and rolled his sleeves up to get the required dirty work done.

Last but not least, the third contender is Alexandros Paschalakis. The PAOK ‘keeper made some vital saves in several matches during July, such as the one-on-one with OFI’s Adil Nabi in Crete, the save from Youssef El Arabi at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium against Olympiacos, and the stop he made from Petros Mandaos’ free-kick for AEK at the OAKA.
