Josip Misic has double the chances of winning this one as he is in the running with two separate plays. And surprise, surprise, both are assists. The first one came in the Greek Cup Round of 16 match against OFI in Heraklion. The Croatian midfielder picked up possession on the left flank and took a quick look up before pinging a superb center right into the path of Dimitris Limnios, who did not need to break stride as he met the ball first time and slammed it into the roof of the net from six yards out.
The second assist is from the match against Asteras Tripolis at the Toumba in the Super League. This time, Mr Vertical picked up the ball in a excellent team move, played a one-two with Limnios before slipping a great ball to Lazaros Lamprou, who applied the finish into an empty net.
This time round, Lamprou is the only player who can take on the Croatian. And the young winger has a good chance to claim the prize. Why? For his magical mazy run against OFI at the Toumba in the cup. The Greek forward picked up possession down near the touchline, skipped past two defenders in stylish fashion, before surging into the penalty area and rifle the ball into the net – a strike which won him the Regency Casino Best Goal for January.
