Vieirinha’s worldie wins the Regency Casino Best Goal of 2019 award
Vieirinha’s stunning goal against Panetolikos in Agrinio has been voted the Regency Casino Best Goal 2019 in the poll via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App.
It was one o those magical strikes that stays etched in the memory. A goal of rare beauty, a masterpiece even. Panetolikos had taken the lead in the match and PAOK needed it’s captain. And oh my how he delivered. After receiving possession from out wide, he strode forward and weighed up his options. Then, with defenders closing in, he hit an absolute pearler of a strike with his right boot which flew past the home goalkeeper and into the let corner of the net. The goal earned the applause of Greece’s footballing public, in what turned out to be one of the key highlights of the teams march to an unbeaten Greek domestic double.
Vieirinha’s goal of course won the Regency Casino Best Goal for March, while the sublime strike also came out on top in the vote for the Regency Casino Best Goal of the 2018-19 season.
The Leader’s wondergoal gathered 72,2% of the votes via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, winning the Regency Casino Best Goal 2019 award comfortably. In second place was Chuba Akpom’s unique flicked finish which helped PAOK defeat AEK in the Greek Cup final to bring home the trophy. Vieirinha was also in third place with his free-kick in the away match against Asteras Tripolis.
