2019 via Instagram
When Instagram crashes – and 2019 it happened often – thousands of people around the world, these (so-called) influencers lose the plot, as well as their livelihood. The power of its images are tremendous. Such that it has changed the daily lives of millions of people who first look for the perfect angle for their shots before actually living through an experience. That’s what Instagram is all about and this is the best of 2019 as far as PAOK is concerned.
PAOK remained true to simplicity itself. Turning away from filters and beautification techniques, the Dikefalos tou Vorra created (almost) all of the club’s posts on a white and black background, standing out from the rest of Greek sports.
Which were the best posts that our supporters liked best and made it into the top ten for 2019? We don’t think you’ll be too surprised. With a milestone league title coming, it’s only natural that most of the interaction will be the post which celebrated our first title win in 34 years.
10) PAOK Fans
On the highway the only reason to stop is for tolls. Or maybe for a call of nature… Right? Wrong! On the way to Xanthi, the PAOK tea, bus came across a special kind of roadblock which made headlines around the world.

The top posts are not only about big successes. The difficult times are just as important, as long as you know how to lose, and at the end of the day, feel proud of your team – pride for the effort the team give out on the pitch, even though they may have left with heads bowed for one reason or another. Just as we all were following the games against Ajax.
8) Light up, light up
There was an exception to our ‘black and white’ rule if only to make a great night even better. Twenty-four hours before the league championship was confirmed, Thessaloniki was lit up from one end of the city to the other to celebrate PAOK’s birthday.
7) Heads Up
Another post from the European elimination by Ajax. It was a night when one of world football’s most famous ‘academies’ needed to bypass its usual values, hold up play, and generally use the kind of tactics which are are not in keeping with the club’s history in order to advance.
6) The Future is Here
Yes, Ajax again. Because being a PAOK fan is not just about being there when we win games and titles – without of course wanting to underestimate the value of such achievements. We become PAOK fans for the thrill of competition against every opponent we come up against. And for the mentality to hold your head up high, whatever may happen.
