As expected, Panionios made life very difficult for Abel Ferreira’s team. PAOK, however, is becoming accustomed to playing in “finals” every week at every ground, leaving no room for its opponents to respond. And with a dominant display, PAOK scored two goals and left Nea Smyrni with another three-point haul.

One of the key players was undoubtedly Chuba Akpom. The Englishman was given a place in the starting line-up and he vindicated his coach’s decision in most emphatic manner, laying on a goal for Ingi Ingason with a clever header, and then doubling the scoreline to wrap up the 2-0 win.

In the voting for the Fans’ Man of the Match via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App, Akpom collected 42,52% of the votes to win the award.

The award is all the more valuable given the fierce competition AK47 had. In second place was goalkeeper Zivko Zivkovic, who did an excellent job of keeping Panionios out when needed, while Ingason, who was a rock defensively while also finding the net again, was third.
