Under-19’s thump Atromitos 6-0
And the run just keeps on going. PAOK’s Under-19 side produced another superb display to notch up a 61st match unbeaten – and in some style – on Matchday 16 against Atromitos.
Two years and counting, with the statistics speaking for themselves. In 61 matches unbeaten, PAOK have recorded 55 wins and six draws. They have also collected 39 points from 15 games, scoring 40 goals in the process. The team leads the league table and heads in to 2020 in incredible shape.
Pablo Garcia’s players enjoyed a exceptional morning’s work at Souroti, defeating Atromitos 6-0. Christos Tziolis was on target four times, while Vasilis Gorteziani weighed in with the other two strikes.
PAOK were on top from the kick-off and got in front after just three minutes. Kaloutsikidis sent over a precise cross and Gorteziani prodded home to make it 1-0. Tziolis then made it 2-0 in the 11th minute, heading home from Grosdis’ assist.
As if to demonstrate PAOK’s utter dominance of this match, imagine that Tziolis hit the woodwork on 21 minutes, Koutsias was denied by the Atromitos goalkeeper with a one-on-one chance four minutes later, and on 41 minutes Doumtsis was also thwarted by the visiting shot-stopper.
More goals did come though in the second half, which proved even easier for PAOK, since the visitors were reduced to 10 players in the 40th minute. Tziolis got his second of the match on 54 minutes after a mazy run, then Gorteziani made it 4-0 in the 68th minute with a powerful shot. After 75 minutes Tziolis scored from close-range (with an assist from Gorteziani) to make it 5-0. But there was still more. In the 78th minute, Panidis released Tziolis, who did not pass and the opportunity to make it 6-0.
PAOK line-up: Talichmanidis, Panagiotou, Giaxis, Michailides, Salamouras (60′ Tsopouroglou), Kaloutsikidis, Doumtsis, Grosdis (69′ Panidis), Gorteziani, Koutsias (46′ Konstantelias), Tzolis.
