Under-17’s slip to defeat against Aris
In football it’s a given that if you do not take your chances and score goals when you’re on top, then more often than not, you will lose. And that’s exactly what happened for the Under-17’s on Sunday against Aris.
PAOK started the match well enough, but the hosts found themselves a goal down after 15 minutes when Aris scored with a long-range effort. Despite having control of the game for long spells and creating numerous chances to score, PAOK simply could not get a breakthrough.
Despite the defeat, Papavasileiou and Taxidis’ team remain top of the Super League table with 30 points from 12 matches. Aris moved to within one point on 29, while PAS Giannina are third with 28. The next challenge for the Under-17’s is against Panetolikos in Agrinio this coming Sunday.
PAOK line-up: Monastirlis, Kitsakis, Sinanai (46′ Kedikoglou), Manolioudis, Koulierakis, Tsikos, Tasiouras (73′ Rumanchev), Kountentakis, Babouras (79′ Spirakos), Spiridopoulos (60′ Koulouris), Smyrlis.
