Alexiadis and Hagan’s team had the game wrapped up as a contest within 35 minutes after another powerful start. Goumas opened the scoring after 18 minutes thanks to an assist from Deligiannis, who also served up another two goals for Koutsioudis on 25 and 35 minutes.

PAOK eased off in the second half and Aris reduced the deficit by one goal in the 75th minute from the penalty spot. There was still a chance for PAOK to add to the goal tally, but Ignatiou was denied by the woodwork on 77 minutes.
