Under-19’s aim to progress against all odds

We agree, the Under-19’s have a mountainous task ahead. It seems impossible, but at the same time it is possible. Pablo Garcia’s and Miroslav Schnauzner’s side are in good psychological shape, determined to try and go the extra mile against Dynamo Kiev. And of course, to do this the team needs your support.

On Wednesday afternoon (27.11, 17.00) at the Toumba, PAOK host Dynamo Kiev for the second leg of their UEFA Youth League second round tie looking to overturn a 0-3 deficit from the first leg in the Ukraine and qualify for the Play Offs.

The turnstiles are open to everyone who wishes to come and support the club’s young stars.

  • The ticket booths will be open from 14:00.
  • An invitation is required to enter the stadium, along with an AMKA number and ID.
  • You should also have a photocopy or photo of your identity with you.
  • The above applies to all ages.
  • Children below the age of 12 are not required to show their AMKA number

For those who cannot for any reason get the stadium to cheer on the team, PAOK TV is there for you. The match will be broadcast live via the Dikefalos tou Vorra’s official digital channel. The broadcast is free for annual subscribers of both the regular and business packages, and is also available to non-annual subscribers via Pay Per View for just 1,49 euro.

The UEFA Youth League format

The UEFA Youth League essentially kicked off in the 2015-16 season, with the tournament expanding from 32 to 64 teams. In its current form, the youth teams (Under-19) of the clubs competing in the Champions League group stage, plus the domestic youth champions of the top-ranked European leagues.

The teams where the senior side are competing in the Champions League play in the same group stage format, with the winners qualifying for the Round of 16 and the runners-up going into the Playoffs.

The 32 domestic youth champions compete in two rounds of two-legged matches, with the eight winners qualifying for the Playoffs, where they play a one-match home opener against the Champions League runner-up. From the Round of 16 onward, one-legged matches are played.
