Under-19’s triumph in Crete
It may have taken a while, but the Under-19 side finally broke down OFI Crete and came away from Heraklion with a 3-0 away win.
Pablo Garcia’s and Miroslav Schnauzner’s team bounced back from their heady defeat by Dynamo Kiev in the UEFA Youth League with a victory to maintain their spot at the top of the Super League.
PAOK began brightly, took control of the possession and tried to build attacks at every opportunity. In the first half, however, the visitors failed to create many clear cut chances. Thankfully, they were able to step up the pace in the second half.
Although PAOK were starting to threaten more, the clock was ticking and the goals were not forthcoming. That was until the 79th minute when Tziolis won a penalty and tucked it away to open the scoring.
Then in added time PAOK added some considerable gloss to the scoreline. Koutsias sent over a perfect cross for Pournaras to score wit ha flying header, and then Koutsias himself found the net from Tziolis’ assist to make it 3-0.
